Detection of Blackhole Attack in Dsr Based Manet

Mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a collection of mobile nodes which are self configuring and connected by wireless links automatically as per the defined routing protocol. A mobile network is one of the most busiest and the public network, because of this the network suffers from the problems of different kind of attacks. One of such attack is Black hole attack in which malicious node falsely claim itself as a valid node. It will accept the information and will not forward the information to next nodes. In this paper, a simple detection algorithm is proposed that will detect the black hole attacks before the actual routing mechanism is started by using fake RREQ packets to catch the malicious nodes
